"I was diagnosed with stage two breast cancer, I had no insurance, and  lost a part-time job due to the illness, therefore, leaving me with no resources. This program helped connect me with insurance options and resources. I or no one in my family has ever experience breast cancer before.  To be a part of the support group with women who identified with what I was going through made my journey more bearable."

"I was diagnosed with stage one breast cancer a year after my husband died, leaving me with little support system.  I needed assistance with transportation and much guidance.  I received educational information about breast cancer, treatment, things to look out for, as well as resources to help during her time of need. “I appreciate the support group at the “Y.” The support I have received have been more than I can express; the program is awesome."

"I was diagnosed with stage one breast cancer, had a mastectomy and needed assistance connecting with many resources and support. I was working part-time with a company who had little regards for her illness and treatment.  Due to the number of hours I was working, FMLA was not an option until  the program assisted me in obtaining it.  I appreciate this program; I have received so much support, the promptness in getting me to my doctor's appointments, the warmth from staff; the strength I have gained from having your support was invaluable.  I received so much joy receiving the little surprise gifts in the mail; to know someone is thinking of me as I go through something like this.  It’s just great to be a part of such a program."

"Now in my 40’s, I was initially diagnosed with breast cancer at age 13.  Recently returning in stage two cancer; I had no insurance or resources. This program has assisted met with supportive services. Divine Intervention, that’s what I call it.  I believe in prayer.  I believe that God sends angels and God answered my prayers in connecting me to EncorePlus.  Sometimes you feel alone, but this program lets me see I am not alone in my struggles.  I have family and they are supportive but it is good to have another source of supporters who can identify with what I am going through.”

"I was diagnosed with breast cancer, which went into remission. Recently, cancer returned and metastasized, my doctors are not very optimistic about success of the current treatment; therefore, they have given me limited time.  I have no children or immediate family or support system. I have no insurance and working toward disability at this time. They are there when I need them; whether information or transportation.  They are caring, compassionate and giving personal assistance when things are becoming too overwhelming.”
